What we do

Sunday Services

Our main act of worship is on Sundays at 10am, when we welcome families and children. This is a Parish Communion following the new Common Worship services. The Gloria is sung in a modern setting specially composed for St Paul’s by Mike Dixon. We do not have a formal choir but a group sings during the communion. After the service coffee is served giveing people a chance to meet.

The children meet at the start of the service in the Isis Rooms for Children’s Church.  Our Children's Church Leader, Jo Barratt, along with her trusty helpers run a program of teaching and activities for various age groups.  The children come into church for a blessing at communion. At the end of the service we all enjoy hearing about what they have been doing. A play area at the back of church is available for very young children.

Meditation Group

On Thursdays, the meditation group meet in the church at 6.45 pm for about half an hour. We practice the tradition of meditation followed by World Community of Meditation which is ecumenical. If you wish to find out more about the Christian tradition of meditation visit www.wccmuk.org or e-mail the webmaster, see contacts.

A quiet celebration of communion often follows at 7.30 pm. We are often joined by members of other churches or none. All are welcome to attend either event or both.

Bible Study

A group meet at 8pm on Wednesday evenings for discussion and study. The studies usually occur in sessions and are advertised on the notice sheet at the beginning of each session.

Baptism and Confirmation

All baptized Christians are welcome to receive communion or a blessing at our communion services. Infants are baptized by the Vicar and adults usually receive baptism with confirmation. Normally children are confirmed before their first communion. Confirmation is administered by the Bishop of Kensington either at St Paul’s or at the cathedral or another church. Candidates are prepared by the Vicar. A special class is arranged for adults if required.

Weddings

We value helping couples to express their commitment to each other in a wedding service.  St Paul's is a beautiful place to hold this beautiful day.  If you are interested in using St Paul's for your special day, please contact Rev'd Michael Riley - all details are found on the contact us page.

Funerals

We are always happy for the church to be used for funerals and memorial services, and to talk with people as they face life's challenges.  The ministry of prayer and laying on of hands, anointng and sacramental condession are always available.  If you are interested in using St Paul's for either of these occasions, please contact Rev'd Michael Riley - all details are found on the contact us page.
