Our church is in Grove Park, Chiswick, just a stone's throw from the Thames. It has been used for Christian worship since 1872 and we would be delighted if you joined us. Christians of all denominations are welcome here, as are those searching for God and indeed the simply curious. We have one Eucharist Service a week, on Sundays at 10am and coffee is served afterwards at the back of the church. On Mondays the Meditation Group meet in church at 6:45pm for about half an hour and a quiet celebration of communion often follows this. On Fridays in church, we have a Stay and Play group for parents, babies and toddlers from 9:30-11:30am, a Coffee Club from 10:45am to 12 noon and a short Welcome Service taken by our Lay Minister Simon Surtees from 12-12:30pm.
You can contact our vicar Rev'd Caroline Halmshaw on

In church, we recently heard the story of a man healed by Jesus. At the end of the story, he is sitting at Jesus’s feet, clothed and "in his right mind". This got me thinking about what it means to be "in our right mind", and how in our culture today we are often encouraged to look for solutions by focusing inwards. But Jesus encourages us to look outwards - to turn away from our preoccupation with ourselves, in order to look at those around us and above all, to God, who longs for all people to flourish.
John Pritchard wrote a version of The Beatitudes, which I think captures something of what it means to be set free to thrive. I hope the months ahead are a time of restoration and healing for all of us, especially for the people in those parts of the world that need to know an enduring peace.
Every blessing,
Caroline
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Letting go of our need to be somebody.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Letting go of our pain.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Letting go of our need to be right.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Letting go of our concern for ourselves.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will receive mercy.
Letting go of our need for revenge.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Letting go of our need to look good.
Blessed are the peace-makers, for they will be called children of God.
Letting go of our need to win.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Letting go of our "safety-first" approach to life.

Gustav Holst Ensemble Concert
We are delighted to welcome the Gustav Holst Ensemble for their debut performance. Joined by the distinguished pianist John Reid, the Ensemble will perform two masterpieces of the chamber music repertoire: Mozart Piano Quartet in G minor K.478 and Fauré Piano Quartet No. 1 in C minor Op. 15. Mozart’s Piano Quartet in G minor, composed in 1785, is a pioneering work in the chamber music repertoire. One of the first pieces ever written for this combination of piano and strings, it is striking for its dramatic power and emotional depth. Meanwhile, Fauré’s Piano Quartet No.1 in C minor, which was completed in 1879, is one of his most beloved chamber works, brimming with passion and refinement. Written during a turbulent period in the composer’s personal life, the quartet moves with emotional fluidity with Fauré’s signature harmonic language and melodic elegance shining throughout.
