POETRY GROUP
The St Paul's poetry group was started by Sue Hearn during the Covid lockdown in March 2020, and is still going strong. We meet up on Zoom every Thursday between 12 and 1pm to share poetry, prose and conversation! It's always an inspiring and thought-provoking hour, and a lovely way to connect with others. You can be part of the group by phone as well as online and if you'd like to join us then please email Sue Hearn.
As well as the Thursday groups, we have had three evenings of poetry and music in church, which has been a great way to share some of our favourites with the wider community. The most recent was in May 2024, and you can read more about this below!

Our Favourite Things: Poetry and Music from St Paul's Poetry Group
This wonderful evening included readings by some of the group of their favourite poems, interspersed with music from Festive Folk. The evening ended with a fabulous performance of People
Will Say We're In Love, from Oklahoma, sung by Simon and Hillie.

PREVIOUS POETRY EVENINGS
The first poetry evening was in December 2022 and had a Christmas theme. The evening included music from the choir and a brass quintet.
Our second poetry evening was part of the celebrations in the summer of 2023 to mark the 150th anniversary of St Paul's church.
THE COVID ANTHOLOGIES
All the poems we chose during lockdown were grouped into sixteen anthologies which you can read by downloading the pdfs below. You can also receive the new weekly anthologies via email in you get in touch with Sue, as above. Many people like to get the collections every week by email, even if they don't want to join the group!
