CHRISTENINGS

We absolutely love having christening services at St Paul's! During a christening your child will be baptized, which is the first step of an amazing journey with God, parents, godparents, friends, family and the church. You don't have to have been christened yourself, and you don't have to be a regular churchgoer. There is lots of very helpful information about what is involved in a christening on the Church of England's wesbite here

A christening can be part of our Sunday morning service, or we can arrange a special service at a time that suits you. You are very welcome to use our lovely church garden or the hall which adjoins the church for a party following the christening, or to have a drinks reception at the back of the church and there are lots of photos of the church garden on the Venue Hire page of this website. The lovely pictures above and below are of the christening service for Florence Cosby in September 2024.

Please talk to our church administrator Annabel Hughes Parkinson administrator@stpaulsgrovepark.com if you would like to discuss a christening at St Paul's with Rev'd Caroline.

The happy picture here shows one of our oldest parishoners with one of our youngest! Joshua Sitraram-Garbett sits on the lap of 100-year old Pat Davies following his baptism in 2023.

It is not just babies who can be christened. Older children and adults too are also very welcome to be baptised at St Paul's. Below you see Canon Julian Reindorp baptising Lilya, Ines and Mary Lou, and on a separate occasion, Olivia van Exter.
